Youngsville

Youngsville

Youngsville came to be in the early 1800’s. A small group of French Acadian farmers figured this community, “Royville” would be a good place to settle and raise their crops and families. They figured right. By 1863, the settlement had grown large enough to attain the lofty status of ‘village’.  When the village was incorporated in 1908, the name was changed to Youngsville.

In 1983, the village of Youngsville was declared a town and by 1990, the secret was out. In 2005, Youngsville was the state’s fastest growing ‘town.’ It was then that Youngsville was elevated to the rank of ‘city’ and has, ever since, been the fastest growing municipality in that category as well.  Youngsville homes are still within a rural city that allows residents to enjoy a small town atmosphere with big city amenities nearby.
